Well Summer is beckoning with only a couple of months to go. So time is now of the essence, it is not too late to plant Aubergine seeds under glass in preparation to plant outside later on.
Also you can still plant the majority of herbs outside now, indeed april is a great month to plant out basil, sage, thyme, and rosemary, all great for cooking with.
It is also still not too late to plant out and grow celeriac and celery seeds under glass, but you need to get them in this month at the latest.
And if you like root vegetables and want to get a good crop this summer then you should be sowing courgettes, marrows and butternut squash seeds under cover this month, in the greenhouse or under cloches. Also if you want to grow your own pumpkins for the kids in time for Halloween then you need to get your pumpkin seeds planted right now, if all risk of frost has past then you can transport them outside as soon as the shoots are 2-3 inches high.

If like us you love tomatoes then get planting tomatoes as soon as possible, if you do not already have tomato seeds on the go then buy tomato plants in, and set them straight out in tomato grow bags.
When it comes to sowing directly outdoors then other favourites that are ready to plant straight in the ground are Artichokes, beetroot, broad beans, and brussel sprouts and broccoli into your deeper raised beds.
Carrot and Parsnip seeds can be planted straight out in rows, where as leeks grown from seed can now be transplanted outside.
