Growing your own vegetables is probably one of the best ways to go about beating the credit crunch. Be warned though! growing you own food is like a bug, it gets under your skin. You'll start small in year 1 and then be wanting to try growing vegetables of all different shapes and sizes in subsequent years. The use of allotments is on the increase and if you are single this can also bring a new social element to your life as well as saving money on expensive shop salads! Once you have grown your own food you will never look back as the taste difference is unbelievable!
